What Is PPIS Skills Workshop?

“What are the PPIS Estimating Skills Workshops about? Who should attend?”

It is an unfortunate fact that a lot of building projects, specifically in the less formal (residential) sector, go horribly wrong because of inadequately calculated costs.

Basics of Estimating is a two-part series intended specifically for building contractors, both new and existing, and persons involved in building cost estimating.

Part 1:Estimating Systems and Procedures introduces the delegate to building cost estimating by exploring estimating and measuring systems and how they are created, as well as taking a look at the building landscape and common risk factors that may influence the cost of a project.
It also takes a sneak preview at the second part of the series (A-Z of Building Price Resources) before it culminates in an example of an estimating sheet, created from a set of plans provided and based on the principles of the estimating systems highlighted in the workshop.

Part 2:A to Z of Building Price Resources equips delegates with the toolbox needed to calculate and quantify the resources that make up the cost elements and components, highlighted in Part 1, that represent the cost of a building.
It concludes by applying the resource guidelines discussed in the workshop to the example used in Part 1, thereby calculating the project cost

In short, these workshops equips delegates with the tools and skills needed to identify and price cost elements in any building and thereby creating the best possible environment to accurately manage a project to a profitable conclusion for both client and contractor.

Please join us in a non-formal and relaxed environment and let us start estimating for better control!
